Rules around visas and working in the UK
International Student Advice at 黑料社
At the University of 黑料社, we have a dedicated International Student Advice team who specialise in immigration advice. They provide lots of help and support around visa regulations.
If you are thinking about part-time work or internships this section on working during your studies and vacations has important information you need to be aware of, as well as the letters you will need to prove your right to work while you are a student.
You can get help from the team in different ways whether it's by going to a digital or in-person drop-in, or by emailing them. Choose the method that best suits you.
Visas and working in the UK after your studies
Most international students who plan to work in the UK after their studies do so on the Graduate visa (post-study work) which allows students completing a degree on a Student visa to stay and work in the UK for 2 years (reducing to 18 months for applications on or after 1 January 2027) after you complete your undergraduate or Masters studies or 3 years if you have completed a PhD.
Some international students are also interested in the Skilled Worker Visa. In order to apply under the Skilled Worker route, you need sponsorship by a licensed employer to do a specific job that meets minimum levels of skill and salary.
Information on other visa routes that allow work that you can switch to from a Student visa can be found on the
