Course content
This MSc Project Management (Online) programme provides a globally focused, practice-based education aligned with leading professional and industry-recognised frameworks, including Agile, PRINCE2®, APM and PMI approaches. You will develop core capabilities in planning, governance, strategy, finance and procurement, risk, change management, stakeholder engagement and leadership.
The curriculum is designed in line with evolving professional standards, combining contemporary project management theory with immersive simulations and a consultancy-style capstone project, enabling you to apply learning to real-world scenarios.
Designed for flexibility, the programme uses asynchronous delivery and interactive digital learning to support professionals balancing study with work and personal commitments.

Project Management Techniques
The module will provide you with an opportunity to explore the techniques of project management, delving into the principles and themes of building a successful project from planning to implementation. It offers an overview of the entire project lifecycle, covering aims and objectives, budgeting, timescale, team development, resources, and scope. Throughout, you will be introduced to the knowledge and skills required to successfully manage projects, learning how to overcome business problems and challenges. Specifically, you will gain an appreciation for the role that projects play within your organisation and how they contribute to the development, delivery, and impact of organisational strategy. You will also gain early exposure to core professional methods, such as Agile delivery approaches and PRINCE2-style stage-gated planning, developing an appreciation for how recognised project management frameworks help ensure consistency, control, and predictable delivery.

Strategic Project Management
Strategic Project Management equips you with the capabilities to lead projects that deliver organisational value and drive strategic change. The module explores how projects, programmes, and portfolios support strategy execution, covering areas such as portfolio shaping, solution development, change control, capability development, transition management, resource capacity planning, and resource management. You will develop the analytical and leadership skills needed to navigate complexity, align initiatives with strategic priorities, and deliver sustainable outcomes in dynamic environments.

Project Quality and Risk Management
Quality management will enable you to explore the principles of quality management and translate them into actions supporting project management success. Risk management will enable you to explore skills for identifying, analysing, planning, and managing project-related risks in terms of scope, schedule, quality, and cost performance. You will learn the critical management processes following the cycle of assessing, controlling, communicating, and reviewing quality -risk throughout the project lifecycle. Once completed, you will be able to recognize your own skills and the roles you can perform in ensuring that project delivery outcomes land smoothly with minimum risk exposure, with the agreement of the business areas and stakeholders, in a way that fully supports the strategy. |

Governance and Financial Management for Projects
This module will enable you to evaluate and establish appropriate project governance through the incorporation of policies, regulations, processes, roles and structures in different project types and organisational structures, accepting that different sizes of organisation require different levels of control. It will also enable you to manage project budgets and costs within appropriate financial frameworks and how to report project performance, tailoring reporting requirements to comply with governance norms in the business. In addition, it will cover constructing robust project business cases that demonstrate the benefits and value expected from project deliverables. |

Responsible Project Leadership
Responsible Project Leadership enables you to develop the mindset and capabilities needed to lead projects ethically, sustainably, and with social accountability. The module explores responsible and inclusive leadership, conflict resolution, diversity and inclusion, sustainability, ethics, compliance and professionalism, and the integration of ESG principles into the project environment. You will learn how to navigate complexity with integrity, balance competing interests, and lead projects that create long?term value for organisations, communities, and the wider society.

Project
You will undertake an independent research or consultancy project based upon a topic of your choice. The project requires you to explore a subject or problem associated with Project Management, and apply concepts or challenges from real-world settings. Primary research data collection during this period is encouraged, including through contact with organisations who may require specific assistance. Overall the project will require you to apply and refine skills you have developed during your studies, including data analysis, visual representation, and professional / academic writing. You will be supported throughout your project by a supervisor.

A 2:2 degree or above with honours in any discipline. We do consider all applications where there is evidence of exceptional performance in modules relevant to the programme of study, significant relevant work experience or professional qualifications. Speak to our team to find out more.

Pay as you study
Total fees for this programme is £12,800.
To make it easier to budget, you don’t need to pay the total fee upfront. Instead, you can pay for each module as you are about to start studying it. You can pay for the whole year if you prefer, but the minimum payment is at least the cost of the module you are taking that term.

Lecturer in Project Management
Dr Onyekachi Onuoha is a lecturer in Project Management and the programme director of the MSc Project Management (Online) at the Business School, University of 黑料社. He teaches project, programme and portfolio management, preparing students to lead complex projects and business operations in national and international contexts. He has taught at several universities in the UK and internationally. Onyekachi is a Chartered Project Professional (ChPP), full member of the Association for Project Management, and a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (SFHEA). His research explores project and strategic management, AI in business, social development and transformative learning, with a focus on leadership and benefits realisation in organisations.
